Before you begin, you will need to have the following pieces of information available: |
| |
| |
-
The nine-digit routing transit number of your financial institution and your
checking or savings* account number (which may be as long as 17
digits). These numbers can be found on the face of your checks (see below)
or by contacting your financial institution. The nine-digit routing transit
number is highlighted in green. The account number is highlighted in orange.
- The address where service is provided.
- Your billing address (if different from service address).
- Your telephone number.
-
Consumers Energy account numbers for the addresses for which you wish to
establish Direct Pay arrangements (printed on your monthly bill).
-
The last four digits of the primary account holder's Social Security number
for verification purposes. Contact Consumers Energy (1-800-477-5050) for verification if you
are unsure who is listed as the primary account holder.
|
| |
You will also need a printer to print the confirmation of your online enrollment.
|
| |
| |
The date that your Direct Pay arrangements will take effect will depend on when
the enrollment is processed on our billing cycle. Until you receive notice
from us that your Direct Pay enrollment has been processed, continue
to pay your Consumers Energy bill(s) the way you currently handle them.
|
| |
| |
Please note that although you may end your enrollment session at any time, if you
cancel an enrollment session, the enrollment information you entered will not be saved.
If you decide to enroll again later, you will have to reenter the information.

*Some financial institutions limit the use of savings accounts for
Direct Pay. Check with your financial institution for details.
