Comprehensive Energy Assessment

An energy assessment is an effective tool to identify ways to reduce the amount of energy your operations use each day.

A Comprehensive Energy Assessment is a complete review of energy usage including electricity, natural gas, other fuels and the systems that convert and use them such as compressed air, steam, heating and cooling systems, lighting and process systems. The assessment will also include water and sewage usage.

Site visits to your facility are performed by an experienced energy manager who will work together with your staff to discover energy-saving opportunities.

• During our first visit, you will receive an initial review of potential cost-saving projects.
• During the final visit, we will report our findings and answer your remaining questions.

We will present to you a report that includes:

• Energy-saving recommendations and Cost Reduction Actions (CRA’s)
• Implementation costs and a summary of recommendations sorted by greatest savings potential
• A discussion of energy use and costs at your facility
• Charts and graphs showing how you use energy
• An interactive CD ROM that contains a spreadsheet of the energy savings calculations. You can change parameters such as fuel costs or operating hours and see its affects energy savings.

You will receive a report that includes:

Technical Energy Analysis (TEA)

The TEA is performed in accordance with the Rebuild Michigan Energy Services “Technical Energy Analysis Guidelines.” This program is offered through the state of Michigan to schools, colleges/universities, public housing authorities and local government buildings to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs. Consumers Energy is a pre-qualified consultant, through the state of Michigan, to deliver the assessment.

The Technical Energy Analysis is a complete review of energy consumption including electrical, natural gas, other fuels, and water and sewer usage. It also includes the building envelope and equipment that consume energy. Equipment may include things such as compressed air, steam, heating, cooling, lighting, and office and process systems.

Site visits to your facility are performed by an experienced energy manager working together with your staff to discover energy-saving opportunities.

• Your report is written to meet the intent of the “Technical Energy Analysis Guidelines.”
• The report is submitted to the state’s energy office for a secondary review of accuracy, and then it is presented to you.

We will present to you a report that includes:

• Energy-saving recommendations and Energy Conservation Measures
• Operational and Maintenance changes (O&Ms)
• A summary of recommendations sorted by greatest savings potential
• A description of the building, building envelope, mechanical and electric systems, occupancy patterns and schedules
• A discussion of energy use and costs at your facility
• Charts and graphs showing how you use energy
• Reviews as required by the State of Michigan
• An interactive CD ROM that contains a spreadsheet of the energy savings calculations. You can change parameters such as fuel costs or operating hours and see its affects energy savings.
