What You Need to Know About Electric Outage Credits 

Downed Power Lines: Stay Away. Stay Alive. Call (800) 477-5050, press 1, or call your local law enforcement agency. When reporting a downed wire, please provide an exact location, such as an address or cross street, and the city or township. 

Electric mastElectric Service Mast: Please check the electric service mast or cable above the meter. Consumers Energy crews will reconnect the wires to your home, but only a licensed electrician can repair or replace a mast or cable.

Home Generator Safety: A generator that is not connected or operated properly poses a serious safety risk to you, your neighbors and to utility crews restoring your power. It can cause carbon monoxide poisoning, a fire or even death. Report A Streetlight Problem

Thank you for providing us with information to help us maintain our streetlights. Not all streetlights are maintained by Consumers Energy. However, we will happily repair the streetlights that we maintain. To report a streetlight that is out or malfunctioning, simply complete and submit the online streetlight problem form.
