STORM SAFETY: Be Prepared

  • Keep flashlights, a portable radio and extra batteries handy
  • Keep enough supplies for 72 hours - food, water and medication
  • Install battery-operated carbon monoxide detectors and smoke alarms
  • Don't use generators in enclosed areas (garages, basements, breezeways)
  • When using a generator, make sure it is installed by a licensed electrician
  • Charge electronics and switch to battery-saving mode if power is lost
