Our participating contractors truly understand energy efficiency, and they’ll work with you every step of the way to get the savings you deserve
The Lighting Incentives Chart has all your options, and the incentives for each one. To see how quickly you’ll save, do the math on the worksheet in our application from Step 3.
Review the list of Contractors to find one in your area who can perform your project. Our participating contractors understand the Consumers Energy Savings Solutions program and have gone through an orientation process. Please note: If you prefer, you can also install the project yourself and apply directly for the incentive without a contractor, or you can use your own contractor.
Download the incentive application and follow the steps listed on the cover page. This form includes the Pre-notification Application and Final Application. For more details on how to apply for incentives, visit our FAQ page.
E-mail, mail or fax a completed copy of the Pre-notification Application, including the Incentive Application Checklist. These documents are included in the downloadable form from Step 3. Pre-notification is recommended to reserve funds, but required for all projects involving delamping, T5/T8 fixtures and custom measures. Please include all required documentation including equipment model number and manufacturer specification sheets.
Your contractor will install the eligible project. Be sure to collect all required documentation for submittal.Please note: If you prefer, you can also install the project yourself and apply directly for the incentive without a contractor.
E-mail, mail or fax a signed and completed copy of the Final Application and all required documentation, including: • Installed equipment specifications • Itemized invoices • Final calculation of energy savings (for custom projects only) Also, be sure to calculate your total incentives per measure using the proper paperwork. All the necessary documents are included in the downloadable form from Step 3.
After all the paperwork is complete, you will receive your rebate check in the mail in six to eight weeks.

Install occupancy sensors and timers in areas that are used sporadically such as break rooms and storage areas. You’ll cut energy use by up to 40 percent.
Replace your metal halide lighting with more efficient and easier to control fluorescent fixtures which will save you nearly half on your energy use.
Make sure indoor lights are turned off overnight and on weekends. And make sure outdoor lights are turned off during the day.
Clean bulbs, light fixtures and lamps regularly. By removing dust and dirt you may increase the output of your lights.
To prevent glare, eyestrain and headaches, do not “over light.” Too much light can produce poor visual quality and costs more.
