Consumers Energy offers several convenient and free options for paying your bill electronically.  Use of any of the eServices payment options automatically enrolls you in our free eBill service and you no longer will receive a paper bill.  For an entire list of payment options, see our Payment Options Overview page.

EDS ePay (credit card for a fee)

In addition to the payment options managed by Consumers Energy for our eBill customers, you can also pay your energy bill using a credit card for a fee. Consumers Energy has arranged for EDS ePay, a third-party payment processor, to accept one-time credit card payments.

EDS ePay charges a convenience fee for credit and debit card payments. EDS ePay will provide you the fee amount.  You may use the following credit cards for payment: Visa® and MasterCard®. Debit cards are also accepted, but only if they are issued by one of the credit card companies listed above and have an expiration date.

You can pay by credit card in one of three ways:

  • Residential and commercial customers can visit  eServices any time day or night.  Select the "Other Services" tab then select EDS ePay and follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
  • Residential and commercial customers can call EDS ePay toll free  at (866) 329-9593 Monday -  Friday (8:00 am - 8:00 pm) and Saturday (8:00 am -1:00 pm).
