The company matches every dollar that our team members, family members and friends raise through 33 Walk for Warmth events statewide.
We walk to keep our community warm.
Hundreds of team members walk to raise funds every year to help keep families in need warm during the winter.
The company and over 2,000 team members, family members and friends last year raised nearly $200,000 for Michigan households through the state's Community Action Agency network.
Help When People Need it Most
In addition to providing grants to nonprofit organizations through the Consumers Energy Foundation, Consumers Energy supports nonprofit groups and communities. We sponsor regional community events like the CRIM Festival of Races, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Wetland Wonders Challenge, AuSable River Canoe Marathon, the Saginaw Light Up the City and the ArtPrizeSmartArt competition. The program also supports unique sponsorships like the Michigan Senior Citizen of the Year Award.
We also help to strengthen lives and communities through special outreach efforts. Our team members raise hundreds of thousands of dollars annually through Walk for Warmth and United Way campaigns across the state.
We Keep Nonprofits in Mind, We Donate In-Kind.
When we upgrade our equipment and office furniture, we equip nonprofits with resources to run their organizations. These hand-me-downs are a leg up for schools and charities that run on tight budgets. Instead of using funds on PCs, printers or office furniture, they can spend it helping more people. In Jackson, we recently outfitted an afterschool program that helps students with reading and homework, giving them a classroom full of computers.
