Online Guest Pay Terms & Conditions

Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

By using Consumers Energy’s guest pay services online, provided by Paymentus Corporation, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions stated below.


Use of Third-Party Services

Consumers Energy uses third-party vendors (including, but not limited to, Paymentus Corporation. The Paymentus Privacy Policy can be found here.) in the collection, storage and processing of financial information (including credit or debit card data and checking/savings account data) and the processing of financial transactions. Please note that Consumers Energy does not accept payments through this process from collection agencies and third party agencies and does not allow access to Online Guest Pay platform to any such agencies.

Please note that Consumers Energy also does not allow access to the Text (SMS) payment platform to any such agencies. By using the Text (SMS) payment platform, you represent and warrant that you are not a collection agency, third party agency, third party commercial payor, or a payment aggregator. You agree that any breach of this warranty constitutes a material breach of this agreement. You agree to (i) indemnify Consumers Energy for interchange fees, merchant fees, as well as all other costs and fees in processing a payment transaction in violation of this agreement, and (ii) indemnify Consumers Energy for all other damages, costs, expenses, and attorneys’ fees resulting from your breach of this agreement.

By Clicking on the "I agree to the terms and conditions", you agree to pay the chosen amount to be paid to Consumers Energy. All authorizations are subject to the agreements governing your credit or debit card.  Under normal circumstances, there are no refunds on the payments processed through guest pay online. If there is a discrepancy, please contact us at (800) 477-5050 or customer@consumersenergy.com. The payment transaction will only be completed after receiving successful authorization from your credit or debit card company for the total amount charged.

Fees and Charges: Individual credit or debit card payments and ACH payments made via Guest Pay will be charged a processing fee of $2.99 per transaction for residential customers and $9.99 per transaction for non-restricted business or commercial accounts. Consumers Energy does not allow credit or debit cards to be used for auto-payments. Customers desiring a fee free ACH payment must register for and pay from a Consumers Energy online account at www.consumersenergy.com.

Card Payments: Consumers Energy may limit or restrict customers from paying with a credit or debit cards. These restrictions do not apply to customers in shut off status. For information about card payment eligibility, please call 800-477-5050.
