Consumers Energy Company is requesting proposals for up to 17.4 MW and 130,000 MWh of renewable capacity, energy and Michigan Renewable Energy Credits from small scale renewable energy systems (less than 5 MW of nameplate capacity), located within the Consumers Energy Company service area for use by Consumers Energy Company in serving its retail and wholesale customers. This request is intended to fulfill a portion of the Company’s renewable capacity and renewable energy requirements specified in Michigan Public Act 295 of 2008 (PA 295) http://www.legislature.mi.gov/documents/2007-2008/publicact/pdf/2008-PA-0295.pdf).

All interested respondents are requested to submit a Notice of Intent no later than 5:00 PM EST on February 5, 2009. Proposals are requested to be submitted no later than 12:00 noon EST on March 2, 2009. Guidelines for the proposals are included in the RFP which can be found on Consumers Energy Company’s website (http:/www.consumersenergy.com) by selecting “For Business”, then “Electric Power Notices” and lastly, “Requests for Proposals”.

Additionally, Consumers Energy Company intends to issue a second request for proposals in March of this year for approximately 600,000 MWh per year of energy, capacity (250 MW) and RECs from additional smaller and larger scale systems interconnected to either Consumers' distribution system or the portion of the MISO system located in Michigan and beginning operation in 2012, 2013, 2014, or 2015.
