How the Program Works
After you enroll in the program, we’ll install devices on the residential air conditioning units you have for free. From there, the devices can reduce your residents’ AC use on a select number of days (known as Energy Savings Events) when energy use is in high demand.
When an Energy Savings Event happens, we’ll notify residents and activate the devices remotely to reduce the compressor’s run time by 40-75%. The fan will continue to circulate air and keep your residents cool while reducing the amount of energy used.
Events usually occur on non-holiday weekdays between noon and 8 p.m. and typically last up to four hours.
