Program Background
The program is funded through customer rates. The impact on a customer's bill is small. This is similar to other public purpose programs that are funded by customers. More EVs on the road and a larger electricity baseload benefits all of Michigan with cleaner air and lower rates – which is good for everyone.
Yes, state and/or federal fleet electrification incentive programs are fully stackable with PowerMIFleet.
The program supports on road and off-road fleet vehicles, including light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
Your organization must acquire and deploy a minimum of one light, medium, or heavy-duty electric fleet vehicles by 2024. You may choose to electrify all or part of your fleet vehicles.
After the chargers are installed and operational, Consumers Energy will collect utilization data from the chargers on a daily basis in the form of kWh electric usage. This information will be anonymized and including in annual reporting to the Michigan Public Service Commission.
