Four Cities Metro Pipeline

Replacing over 8 miles of natural gas pipeline in Royal Oak, Madison Heights, Clawson and Warren

We are modernizing our natural gas system to improve safety and reliability for our customers. Eight miles of distribution pipeline will be replaced in Oakland and Macomb counties.

The four-year, $182 million project will replace 24-inch steel pipeline that dates back to the 1950s. This project will help us move natural gas quickly, safely and efficiently to over 800,000 homes and businesses in Southeast Michigan.

Pre-construction activities will take place in 2025. Construction of roughly 2-mile sections will start in 2026. This will continue until 2029. Construction starts each year in the spring and ends in time for the winter heating season.
