At approximately 11:30 a.m. Friday, a journeyman lineworker received an electric shock from a 7,200 volt line while working on Old Mission Peninsula. He was transported to Munson Medical Center where he passed away a short time later. Consumers Energy is conducting a thorough investigation of the incident and cooperating with state and local agencies. Our thoughts go out to the employee’s family, friends and coworkers. As we take the safety of our employees very seriously, our hearts hurt for our lost coworker. This is a sad and difficult day for everyone at Consumers Energy.
