Charge Your EV and Earn Credits
Use a Level 2 charger or 240V charging cable and charge at home. You can earn a $10 monthly credit on your bill, up to $120 over a maximum of 12 months per EV.
Save by Charging Overnight
Charge your EV at home from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Need to charge outside this window? You get three off-schedule exceptions per month.
Take Advantage of Lower Rates
You’ll be enrolled into Nighttime Savers Rate (RPM_1050). This rate gives you lower electricity prices overnight on weekdays and all weekend long.How to Enroll
1. Check Eligibility
To qualify, you must:
- Be a Consumers Energy residential electric customer.
- Own, lease or have on order/reserve an EV or Plug-in Hybrid EV. This vehicle must be registered to the primary address associated with the Consumers Energy electric account.
- Charge your electric vehicle using a residential Level 2 charger or 240-volt charging cable.
- Agree to enroll in Nighttime Savers Rate.
- Charge overnight on weekdays between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
2. Submit Your Application
To submit your application, please visit our PowerMiDrive Enrollment Application page.
3. Send Required Documentation
Within one business day, Consumers Energy will email you requesting two items:
- Vehicle documentation (Vehicle registration OR purchase agreement/pre-order agreement)
- Charging schedule confirmation (A photo showing your EV is scheduled to charge between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on weekdays)
4. Plug In and Save
After we review your documents, we’ll enroll your account in Smart Charging Incentive and Nighttime Savers Rate.
