How to Get the Most Out of This Plan
Charge your car when most people are sleeping to get the lowest rate on energy.
If you choose the Residential Time of Day Rate, you should consider running some of your household appliances at night, since the lower rate applies to all your energy use during times when overall energy demand is lowest.
You get the lowest rate for energy use all day on weekends and holidays.
What Rate Plans Can You Use With a PEV?
At this time the best option for a PEV owner is our Residential Time of Day Rate, which allows you to save money by charging your PEV during off-peak hours. Below we compare that rate to our Standard Rate Plan.
You can choose to simply install a charger, keep your existing meter and continue on the Standard Rate Plan. But if your schedule allows you to charge your vehicle during off-peak hours, you could save money by switching to our Residential Time of Day Rate, which is described below.
You also keep your existing meter with the Residential Time of Day Rate. With this rate your kWh cost differs depending on the time of day you use electricity. It costs less to use electricity during non-peak hours, so if you shift your electricity use to lower-cost evening, early morning and/or weekend hours, you could benefit from this rate.
If you already have a second meter, or are interested in installing one, there may be another rate option for you. Call us at 877-904-9246 if you’d like to explore that option.
How do the Two Plug-In EV Plans Differ?
