Safety in Your Home

If you smell natural gas (a rotten egg odor) or think there’s a leak, please do the following:

  • Leave the area right away.
  • Go to a safe place, preferably in the fresh air.
  • Don’t try to locate the source of the leak.
  • Don’t use an electric device, even cell phones.

Prevent Carbon Monoxide Poisoning


Important steps to protect you and your family

  1. Install a CO alarm
  2. Never use a generator indoors at home or work.
  3. Inspect your furnace every year
    • Change air filters at least every other month
  4. Be sure your chimney and vent pipes are not blocked with any objects.
  5. Never use a gas stove or a charcoal grill to heat your home.
