Who You’ll Be Working With

Customer Care Representatives

Initiation Phase

Already a Consumers Energy customer with login credentials? Submit your new service installation requests online by logging into your Project Dashboard and clicking the green New Service button.

If you are new to Consumers Energy, a Customer Care Representative will be the first person you talk to about your project. To begin your request, call 800-477-5050. You’ll get a notification number, which you can use to create a profile and access your Project Dashboard.

Energy Request Center

Initiation Phase

If you called in your request, the Energy Request Center will call you shortly after to get more details. This is so we can submit your job to the correct work group.

Project Coordinator

Scoping - Closeout Phases

Your Project Coordinator will be your main point of contact through the life of your project. They will begin by asking detailed questions that will allow your service to be tailored to your needs, and ensuring a proper fit into your area’s energy infrastructure. Then they will keep you updated as your project progresses and communicate what is needed from you to keep your project on track.

Service Designer

Design Phase

During the design phase the infrastructure around your property is reviewed. This allows us to identify the route for your installation. It will also help you figure out the size of the service needed, and order needed components.

Property Rights Research

Prerequisite Phase

During this phase, property rights researchers identify the permits, easements, and Right of Ways needed to install and to maintain your service.

Scheduler

Scheduling Phase

Your Scheduler fits your project into our crew’s overall work plan, checks that prerequisites are met, coordinates support, and communicates about outages.

Crew

Construction Phase

The hardworking professionals who install your service(s).
