Eligible customers can receive $50,000 per DCFC port, up to four ports, for a maximum rebate of $200,000. Projects must include at least two DCFC ports, and each port must provide 150 kW output or greater.

Commercial electric customers may be eligible to apply. Applicants or site hosts must also have the legal right to install, own, operate and maintain DC fast charging equipment at the proposed site. For more details, review the Terms and Conditions.

You should apply after you have developed a clear project plan, but before your project breaks ground. Your application should include details such as:

• Site amenities
• Safety features
• Parking space dimensions
• Other information needed to evaluate the proposed installation

Consumers Energy uses a scoring rubric to evaluate DCFC rebate applications. Higher-scoring projects are prioritized for funding, with automatic approval for applications scoring 300 points or more. Review the Terms and Conditions for complete scoring details.

Your site may qualify if it:

• Is located within Consumers Energy's electric service territory.
• Is located in an eligible community.
• Meets all DC fast charger program requirements.

Eligible communities are areas with limited access to public DC fast charging. To see whether your site is in an eligible community, use the Eligible Communities Toolkit.

Qualifying projects must:

• Include at least two DC fast charging ports.
• Provide at least 150 kW of power from each port.
• Make chargers available to the public 24/7.
• Allow charging without a membership, subscription or account.
• Offer a convenient payment method, such as a credit card or tap-to-pay.

Preference will be given to sites that install ports with output greater than 200 kW.

Yes. Chargers must be publicly available 24/7. Drivers cannot be required to have a membership, subscription or account to charge their vehicle.

Preference will be given to sites that are easy for drivers to find, including locations that are visible from the road or clearly marked for public use.

Existing charging sites may qualify if:

• The site is located in an eligible community.
• You plan to add at least two new DCFC ports with each new port rated at 150 kW output or greater.
• The project meets all current program requirements upon evaluation.

Sites are not eligible if the existing site already offers at least two DCFC ports rated at 150 kW or greater and there is another site in the same community that also offers at least two DCFC ports rated at 150 kW or greater.
