Heads-Up: Scheduled System Maintenance September 19–21
We want to give you notice that, weather permitting, we’ll be performing maintenance on our website, mobile app, and Call Centers next month.
Outage Schedule:
From Friday, September 19 at 12:00 PM until Sunday, September 21 at 11:59 PM, you will be unable to log in to our website or access our billing, outage, or energy use information systems.
Planning Ahead:
To help you prepare, we’ve removed September 19 thru September 21 as bill due dates. This gives you flexibility to make payments before or after the event without missing a beat.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to improve your experience.
Identity Theft
Guard Your Account Information
Identity thieves want access to your account information. That’s why we take every precaution we can to keep it safe. This includes asking a few questions to validate your account when we talk with you. We ask that you be just as cautious to protect your identity. For starters, know how to spot a phony. We will never ask for personal information such as:
Your Consumers Energy online account password or User ID
Your User ID or password for your credit card or bank
Your full Social Security number and driver’s license number
We will never ask you to send a payment to an address that is not publicly known as being a Consumers Energy payment office. You can check payment office locations on our Contact Us page. If you think your personal information has been unlawfully used to do business with us, please call us at 810-760-3245.
How to Report Identity Theft
If you’re the victim of identity theft, complete the Consumers Energy ID Theft Information Form. Then fax required documentation (see form for more details) to 866-703-8115. If you don’t have access to a fax machine, call us at 800-477-5050 to make other arrangements.
