Crews are Staged & Ready to Help Customers
A new round of widespread storms is expected to impact Michigan, bringing a chance for severe thunderstorms, flooding, hail and the potential for tornados. High wind gusts, in excess of 70 mph, are also forecast across the state, creating the possibility for additional widespread outages.
Through the first 24 hours of the restoration, crews restored power to more than 115,000 customers following Wednesday’s bout of severe weather. Today, more than 700 crews are staged across the state to access damage, repair infrastructure and restore power to homes and businesses.
Visit www.ConsumersEnergy.com/OutageCenter for tips to stay safe and prepare your homes for possible outages. Customers can also sign up for outage alerts at ConsumersEnergy.com/alerts and receive real-time updates.
If you rely on electric powered life-support equipment in your home, power outages can be more than a minor inconvenience. They can be dangerous. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide special service or return your power more quickly if an outage were to happen. So, preparation is critical. Get started with the below programs.
If you are on life-support or have a life threatening medical condition, you could get shut off protection. Please complete the Medical Certification Form to get started. Please note, if you are participating in life support shut off protection, you need to re-enroll every year.
PLEASE NOTE: Backup generators and transportation services are not part of this program. Participation in this program does not mean your electric power will be restored sooner than others.
